waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis... broad high pressure of 30.3 inches is centered 
northeast of the great lakes region this afternoon. by evening, 
the 30.4 ridging extends across central and southern quebec back 
into the great lakes region. during tonight and friday, the ridge,
at 30.5 inches, shifts to new england and the maritime provinces 
while low pressure of 29.2 inches lifts from eastern colorado into
nebraska. this low continues to track northeast, weakening to 
29.6 inches by the time it reaches northeast lake superior on 
saturday evening. on sunday, 30.4 inch high pressure builds over 
far northern ontario as a 29.6 inch low pressure lifts northeast 
across the central plains. this low continues to track northeast, 
crossing lake superior monday. in its wake, a 30.0 inch ridge 
shifts east across the mississippi valley monday night into the 
lower great lakes tuesday.
