Kingston is the fresh water sailing capital of Canada. KYC has a strong
racing fleet of both offshore and shark class sailboats. Very competitive,
with a number of world and olympic class sailors. Wind is generally strong,
mostly due to thermal winds in the afternoons from the SW.

The most popular launch site in the Kingston area is McDonald park which is just 2 minutes from downtown Kingston. Coming from Toronto, take the 401 West to Kingston and exit South on Sir John A. McDonald Blvd. After almost 3 kms, you will reach King street. Turn left (East) here and after 1 more km, you will see Queens University and the Hospital on the left and McDonald park on you right!

The sensor is mounted at the end of the pier of the Kingston Yacht Club, immediately East of McDonald park. The sensor has a clear view of the wind for all cross and onshore conditions from Norhteast through South to West.
