Sensor Notes
Data from this station is courtesy of the National Weather Service (NWS). This is a NOAA sensor. This sensor is located on the pilot boat at the entrance of the main shipping channel of the Golden Gate. In the spring and early summer it tells you if the winds are moving in from the buoys. If S.F. buoy and Bodega buoy have strong NW winds and this sensor is light at 2pm then the wind may not get to the beach or be lighter than forecast. However a high reading from this sensor early in the AM is a good sign for coast and Peninsula sailing.
