Davis Point Overview
Do you sail here? We could really use your help filling out this section. To supply us with information on this site to include here, please send it via email to: content@iwindsurf.com. Thank you!
From user: "This place gets huge, easily the best swells in the bay when you hit it right. Every time I go, the only sailors there are the guys I came with (3rd Ave/ coast sailors). I still can't figure out why no one goes there?! DP does have big currents, and the channel where all the swells are is way out (maybe twice as far out as 3rd). On lighter days, the windline is a few hundred yards offshore (On good days you plane off the beach on your 4.0) I wouldn't go on a flood... "

Sensor Notes
Data from this station is courtesy of the National Weather Service (NWS). This NWS sensor is useful for judging the wind heading towards Sherman Island on days when there will be good AM winds. It is also a good indicator for the Maritime Academy sailing site. Strong winds here in the AM indicate that Larkspur will have an early day. There is also great sailing at Davis Point for advanced and expert sailors. This site is rarely sailed but offers the biggest swell in the Bay Area. The wind is stronger at the sensor than at the shore.
