12/17/24: Our friends at Huguenot State Park attempted to reinstall the wooden pole. Unfortunately, damage to the dunes from Milton has been significant and high tides and winter storms promptly re-toppled the pole again. Currently, it is not possible to reinstall the pole deep enough into the sand, so reinstallation of the pole seems unlikely. We are actively seeking alternative locations. We apologize for the inconvenience.
