Avon Ocean Overview
North Avon Turnout is recommended starting spot for northeast downwinders. If sailing at The Old Road, be careful of the wind shadow right at the shore. Also, watch the nasty wash zone at Ego Beach. Getting through the break can result in a broken mast and a whitewater ride towards the lighthouse.

Sensor Notes
The sensor is mounted out on the Avon Pier across the street from this site's sponsor, Hatteras Wind & Surf. Special thanks to Hatteras Wind & Surf; also to the folks at the Avon Pier for allowing us to place our instruments on the pier. By the way, be sure to stop by the Bare Foot Pub in front of the pier for a cold one after a sail.
