Cape Charles:

There's a great slick behind the jetty on a SW wind. The riding area is large, shallow and generally uncrowded. There are several options for downwinders in N, NW and SW winds. Downwinders include waves, flat water, and beautiful natural terrain and scenery. Some downwinders require access to private property for launching, so check in with Southeast Expeditions, the local kite shop: 757-331-2680 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              757-331-2680      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.

Wetsuits for spring and fall. Summer is shorts all the way. Season lasts from Late March through December depending on how tough you are. Several dry suit clad riders hit this beach year round.

Cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel from Virginia Beach. Travel 10 miles North on Hwy 13. Turn left at stop light just past `Food Lion` grocery store. Go to end the end of the road. Walk over the dune (use boardwalks please!). You're there! Just north of Cape Charles Harbor. Don't forget to stop into the local pub to share a drink with the other riders on your way out. It's a short walk from the beach.
