Lakes Bay is a popular sailing site because of its
accessibility and "windsurf-friendly" environment. Unlike its neighbor to the south at Kennedy Park, Lakes Bay has little motorboat traffic and no admission fee. Sailing is primarily on flat water. The best wind directions for Lakes Bay are south and southwest. These directions provide a great fetch, and are enhanced by an urban "heat island" upwind in Atlantic City. Southeast winds blow the lightest, similar to Brant Beach further up the coast.

Lakes Bay and PT Point are virtually the same place. For Current Wind Graph switch site to PT Point.

Local hotels include: Hampton Inn (609) 484-1900, and Comfort Inn.

Lakes Bay is located within yards of the Atlantic City Expressway, and is a mile or two from the Garden State Parkway. The sailing beach is off Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City between Pleasantville and Atlantic City. Take Route 9 to Pleasantville to Route 40/322 East. Go east on Route 40 for approximately one mile, then turn right onto any street and go down to the water and Bay Drive.
