Nantucket Airport Overview
SW thermal works best at Sound side locations. SW Thermal usually a little lighter than Cape but all other directions usually stronger [Fog can hang on nantucket when on the cape it burns off and the thermal fills in]. Ocean sailing on South shore when it blows hard, Northerlies [particularly Nor'easters] blow long and hard and provide great onshore wave sailing on North shore. Water stays warm well into November. Every sailing site on the island is within a 15 minute drive. Isolated, but that is it's strength. Weed fins needed everywhere Summer-Fall except in the ocean. Not a lot of weekend warriors.

Northerly Winds, Galley Beach or Water Tower
